President
Bill and his wife Leslie have been foster parents for seven years, and adopted two girls four years ago. He served as President of the Jackson County Foster Parent Association, and has been on the Oregon Foster Parent Association board for five years, where he is currently President. Bill is also a Consulting Foster Parent for the organization. His eldest daughter is 46 and youngest is 5 years. He and his family enjoy horse back riding and camping.

Judi Nagel
Secretary
Judi lives in Silverton with her husband Greg. She is currently completing her bachelors degree at Corbin University in psychology with a concentration in family life studies. She returned to school after many years in the work force as an EMT and has training in orthopedics, EKG, and dialysis. She and her husband have 6 adult children. Judi left the medical field after moving to Silverton so that she and her husband could be foster parents for OYA. They did that for many years and found it very rewarding. Judi served as a volunteer at Camp To Belong NW in 2012 and loved it! Judi brings a lot of life experience to the board and a great heart and passion for serving.

Don Darland and his wife Vicki have been fostering in Linn County since 1991. Don helped form the Oregon Foster Parent Association in 1996, and has served on the board in several capacities since its inception. Hobbies include hunting, fishing and grandchildren.

Gerrie Fuller

A Single parent fostering since 2005. Gerrie began fostering in Burns OR where she fostered a child for three years and did respite. Moving to the valley in 2009 Gerrie continues to foster and provide respite. She has been a OFPA board member since 2006. She is also on the Linn County FPA board.

Anita Christensen
At Large Representative
Anita Christensen started as a relative caregiver and has been involved in foster care for eight years. Her family has adopted one child, has two grandchildren as guardianship and have had many children in their home - both long term and short. She has served as a Southern Representative for Oregon Foster Parent Association and has also been involved in the Coos County Foster Parent Association for seven years, where she is currently Vice President.

Lucas Adams

Luke lives in Salem Oregon with his wife and young son, Eli. He has a masters in education and has been an sub teacher for the high schools in the Portland and Salem area for several years and also taught at the alternative high school in Salem, Oregon and worked with many foster youth through this job. He is very interested in contributing to a good cause and putting his energy into serving for OFPA/CTBNW. He has a huge heart and passion for youth and is very skilled in this area! Luke has also been a volunteer counselor for Camp To Belong for many years and has a real heart for foster families and youth.

Beth Bunch-Schimmels

Beth is a former foster youth. Beth grew up in foster care in central Oregon and has been actively involved in Camp To Belong since she was 9 years old. She was a camper for many years with her siblings and has been an active and committed volunteer counselor for many many years. She has been a guest speaker on panels for PSU on many occasions and has traveled, participating in many key note addresses at the Washington State CASA conference, Washington State foster parent conference, CRB conference, Rotary groups, etc. She is a strong voice for foster youth and families and sibling separation.

A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, born in Seattle, WA, raised in Yakima, WA and 25 year resident of the Portland Metro Area. Married to Karyn Schimmels (24+ years) and officially the Father of (4) kids, (3) biological and (1) adopted. Made his living for the last 25 years as a sales guy selling capital equipment. He fills his heart with the job of Co-Director of Camp to Belong NW (Aka: Big Daddy), which gives him the opportunity to work directly with youth in care for (2) weeks out of every summer and some weekends throughout the year.

Camp To Belong

Camp To Belong is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to reuniting brothers and sisters placed in separate foster homes or other out of home care. Camp To Belong is the leader in sibling connection summer camp programs for youth in the U.S., Canada and the Virgin Islands. Year round activities feature new legislation regarding sibling placement and visitation, increased recruitment of foster and adoptive families who embrace siblings and enhanced best practice among child welfare professionals.
