Become a Foster Family
Foster and adoptive families are a valuable resource in caring for children placed in the State's care and custody. More than 6,500 Oregon children are currently placed in temporary, safe homes. There are about 3,500 Oregon foster homes. More skilled families are needed to temporarily or permanently care for children who have been abused or neglected.
The Oregon Foster Parent Association supports, advocates for and represents foster and adoptive families by:
- Providing peer support
- Advocating for legislative and agency change.
- Improving the care, support and training systems for families.
The Foster Family Care Network :
The Foster Family Care Network (FFCN) connects potential therapeutic foster care providers to specialized foster care programs. Each program is tailored to meet the specific needs of children in therapeutic foster care and we are looking for care providers who are ready for a challenge. Programs serve children suffering from histories of abuse and neglect; emotional, physical needs; and youth who are dealing with drug and alcohol issues. These programs serve kids from preschool and school age to adolescent ages 11-17. Contact FFCN at 801-879-4500.
