| Foster
and adoptive families are a valuable resource in caring for children
placed in the State's care and custody.
More than 6,500 Oregon children are currently placed in
temporary, safe homes. There are about 3,500 Oregon foster
homes. More skilled families are needed to temporarily or
permanently care for children who have been abused or neglected.
The Oregon Foster Parent Association supports, advocates
for and represents foster and adoptive families by:
• Providing
peer support.
• Advocating
for legislative and agency change.
• Improving
the care, support and training systems for families.
