Notice & Review of Founded CPS Dispositions:
The purpose of these rules (413-010-0700 to 0750) is to establish procedures for ensuring the rights of individuals to receive notice and the opportunity to request a review when a Child Protective Services (CPS) assessment results in a "founded" disposition.

Assessment of Abuse Allegations in Family Foster Care, Family Group Homes and Family Shelter Homes: This policy provides that DHS and/or Law Enforcement must assess or investigate all reports of child abuse. Allegations of abuse of children in foster care must be promptly resolved, and requires involvement of CPS and certification staff.
The focus of the CPS worker is the assessment of the allegations and protection of the children currently placed with the foster family. The response of the certification worker is based on the results of the CPS assessment and may require corrective actions or certification suspension or revocation because of possible violations of certification regulations, as well as a validated abuse or neglect finding.
